We’ve been riding on NextCloud for so long, and it didn’t have any hiccups. Unlike RocketChat, it does updates automatically. I am very impressed with self hosted solutions like this, they saved us tons of money.

The part that does work is the file sharing. The part that doesn’t is the documents cloud. I strongly suggest that you avoid using online office suite as it is not that easy to setup. 

But as far as the file sharing and Dropbox like functionality, you literally won’t feel the difference.
