M1 Apple Chip and my future of computing
December 1. 2020 by Bojan
This new chip is still in an experimental state. Nothing wrong with it, but if you want a full powered computer, you won’t be getting the new Apple chip anytime soon. Yes it is cool to run iPhone apps in the macOS, but it’s not cool not to be able to turn on paralels and start another operating system (such as linux), as it can’t support it.
You are going to miss the opportunity to run VMs reliably, and that is not a professional computer, because it is an island of its own. Chances are that the next computer I get won’t be Apple, but a PC running a linux.
