Choosing The Right Laptop for Security and Coding
December 25. 2021 by Bojan
I’ve recently obtained Lenovo laptop specifically for Linux. Now I am having second thoughts. Do I really need this laptop? My biggest hurdle with my current MacBook is slow battery life. However, my current laptop is on the old CPU infrastructure and doesn’t have the ARM Apple Chip. I would call it a legacy laptop at this point.
If I stay on Apple, and install Ubuntu as a dual boot, I can technically run both Operating Systems on a single Machine. With M1 new Apple chip I wouldn’t be able to do that. In this sense, my old Apple laptop is the number one. But somehow I am feeling that old infrastructure that can support Ubuntu is going to be a premium laptop and in demand. No need to get a new Mac at this point.
Sometimes you already have, is everything that you need.
